Newest education, its true goals and requirements: Collection of articles in defense of scientific education. We are talking about university education. Spb. 1867. In the publishing semi-leather binding. Format: 21.5x15sm. compiled by E. Yumans. - Mill D.S. We are talking about university education. Translated from English, with a foreword by M.A.Antonovich. Spb. edition "Russian Book Trade", 1867. XXVIII + III + 416 + 71 pages. This book is compiled by the American social Darwinist Edward Livingstone Eumans (1821-1887) from articles, excerpts and speeches of the largest British scientists of the XIX century, who spoke about the role of the natural sciences in education and about the tasks of the latest education focused on the exact sciences and practice. In articles and lectures, the brightest scientists of Great Britain and Europe brilliantly and wittyly prove the importance of their sciences in public life, demonstrate their impact on the minds and feelings of young people, show their value for the development of the worldview, the whole personality and its professional qualities, for training the mind. The refined logic and rhetorical art of the English scientific elite were turned to the assertion of the primary importance of the natural sciences in education, which laid the foundations for scientific and technical progress. Thus, the goal of education was to educate such a person who would actively change the world around for the better, not abstractly, but quite concretely - around himself, in which he should be helped by a new system based on the natural and exact sciences.
