70 Over the past 10 - 15 years, the Catholic movement among Russians has noticeably increased. With the increase in the number of people who took the Catholic confession, however, in some circles of Russian society, the attitude towards this movement has increased. For the reason of such dual phenomena, the Congress of the Russian Clergy of the Universal Church, which met in Rome in 1930, found it timely to address Russian public opinion with a special statement; its purpose is to indicate the essence of the Russian Catholic movement and thereby to dispel those prejudices that are rooted in our compatriots. Our appeal is addressed to all Russians, wherever they are, but its penetration into Russia before the fall of Soviet power is impossible. Compiled for the above purpose by the priest of the book. A.
