Rare ancient engravings by the famous Italian artist Antonio Tempesta! Presented engravings are one of the most prominent monuments of European printed graphics, a masterpiece of the early Baroque era. Antonio Tempesta visualized in detail almost every significant mythological plot of an ancient epic poem - from the creation of the world and the global flood to the fall of Icarus and the Trojan battles. Currently, this is the only such offer on the world market: album consisting of 150 engravings based on the poem Ovid,Metamorphosis. This series by Antonio Tempesta had a huge impact on contemporary art. During the 17th and 18th centuries, it was these 150 engravings that served as the main visual source (iconographic reference) for European painters, sculptors and masters of decorative and applied art (for example, masters of faience and tapestry). They borrowed poses, the construction of mise-scenes, and anatomical solutions to create their own baroque masterpieces. Paper Verge!
