The basis of this publication is the first published history of the production of thematic porcelain in Ukraine, dedicated to the world of childhood. Today, there is no doubt that the sculpture of small forms experienced a period of rapid development in the twentieth century. Since the 1950s, more and more artists have invested their talent, imagination and work in small plastic, turning industrial products into sophisticated manifestations of artistic thought. The book reveals the life path and creative heritage of the honored artist of Ukraine Svetlana Golembovskaya - an artist who, during thirteen years of work on the resource and technological basis of the Kyiv Experimental Ceramic and Art Factory, created a whole gallery of highly artistic images. Her porcelain figures have become iconic for Ukrainian decorative art, embodying the poetry of postwar childhood, bright dreams and everyday tenderness. This publication is the result of many years of search work: through live communication with non-public artists, the processing of museum collections and archival documents, the study of family photo albums. A thorough classification of a large number of illustrative material has been created, which makes it possible to navigate not only scientists and students, but also a wide range of collectors, researchers and anyone interested in the history of Ukrainian porcelain plastic. This book is an attempt to return from oblivion a unique page of our art and look at childhood in porcelain as a separate artistic language, where in miniature is a great story.
