Antique book of the Sovereign from the house of the Romanovs in 1913. N.D. Chechulin The prince from the house of the Romanovs 1613 - 1913. Life descriptions of the reigning princes and outlines of their reigns. Edited by Doctor of Russian History N.D. Chechulin. The 1913 edition of Sytin. Two volumes in publishing red crankshafts with rich colored ornaments. With the help of polychrome embossing, a two-headed eagle is depicted - the Coat of Arms of the House of Romanoff. Much illustrated edition is timed to the day of the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov, on which worked the brightest minds of the era. In the presented books, the restoration of book blocks and partial painting on the binding covers were made. Preface of the book by N.D. Chechulin. To the Tsar from the House of Romanov, 1913 edition: The proposed book contains sixteen essays, in general, giving a coherent overview of the history of Russia for three hundred years, during which the Moscow state, which has just suffered the terrible shocks of the Time of Troubles and barely defended its independence, grew - under the rule of the rulers from the House of Romanoff - into a great empire and took an outstanding place among the world powers. In order to fulfill the long-felt gap in Russian historical literature: the absence of labor, in which the life of Russian sovereigns would be depicted with proper scientificity and completeness, the proposed edition brings to the fore the personality of each sovereign, his activity, his participation in the events of his reign. But at the same time, every effort was made to ensure that the life of the people, the labors they suffered in eliminating the state and performing its most important tasks, were depicted with all the necessary completeness; the authors of the essays are convinced that serious readers will not find in this edition attempts to glorify the beginning of personality in history at the expense of studying the life of the people. The participants of this publication and its editor N.D. Chechulin are equally imbued with the conviction that the best expression and proof of their respect for the Russian people, love for them and for their sovereigns is unconditional truthfulness, bold directness in judgments and conclusions. They sought to make their work not only accessible, but also interesting for the widest range of readers, and at the same time to give all that is critically tested, firmly established and should be recognized as historical truth.
