Moral statistics" was written by a German professor Georg Mayr and published in 1899 in Moscow printing house of the partnership I.D. Sytin. The translation into Russian was performed by N.N. Romanov, with additions by V.E. Den under the editorship of Professor A.I. Chuprov. In this work, Mayr explores patterns in public life, applying statistical methods to the analysis of demographic and moral aspects of society. The book consists of three main parts: Statistical method theory: the basics of statistics as a scientific discipline and its application in the social sciences are considered. Population statistics: demographic data, trends in fertility, mortality and other population-related indicators are analysed.
