“Earth and People. General Geography” is a fundamental work of the French geographer Elise Reclus, published in 1877-1896. In the Russian translation edited by S. P. Zykov it was published in St. Petersburg by the publishing house "Public Benefit" in 1898-1901 and consisted of 19 volumes, combined into 10 books. Each volume contains detailed descriptions of geography, nature, climate, ethnography and statistical data on the population of different regions and their activities.
