The addressee of the newspaper, as seen on the sticker, N. Grigoriev Nikifor Yakovl Grigoriev (pseudonyms of G. Our, Grigoriev-Nash, Grigory Nash; February 9, 1883, Burty Cherkassky district, Kyiv province, now the village of Zvenygorod district of Cherkasy region - August 5, 1953, New York, USA) - Ukrainian public and political figure, publicist and teacher, social scientist, journalist. Father of the artist Miroslav Grigoriev. Biography Born in the town of Burty, Cherkasy region, Kyiv Governorate (now the village of Zvenigorod district, Cherkasy region). His father worked as a teacher in rural schools of Cherkasy region (Nechaivtsi, Serdegovtsi), so the family often moved from place to place. From 1895 to 1900, he attended the Town Agricultural School, which had two preparatory, equivalent to two classes of the town school, and three special classes. Having acquired the profession of an agronomist, he refused to work for a profession, not wanting to engage in the visa of peasants. In 1902, the young man moved to Kiev, settled on accommodation with his school friend F. Litvin, who worked in the "Kiev Society of Agriculture" under the leadership of the famous Ukrainian national Tikhon Ivanovich Osadchy. It was this person who played a huge role in shaping the political views and consciousness of N. Grigoriev. Thanks to T. I. Nikifir Yakovych gets a job first in the library of the Kyiv Literacy Society, and later in the statistical department of the South-Western Railways management. It is during this period of his life that he reads a lot, in particular the works of I. Franko, T. Shevchenko, O. Kobyliansky, V. Stefanyk, M. Kotsyubynsky, B. Grinchenko, works of O. Herzen, M. Bakunin, M. Chernyshevsky, engaged in self-education, writes his first literary works, communicates with revolutionary youth of various political directions in the house of his spiritual mentor T. I. Osadchiy. Since 1903 H. Grigoriev sympathizes with the party of socialist revolutionaries, participates in illegal propaganda work. Under the influence of Narodnik ideology, instilled by Tikhon Osadchy, Nikifir takes an exam for a teacher of a district school and in 1905 begins his pedagogical activity in the city of Skvira, Kyiv province. Because of the rejection of the imperial pedagogical and educational instructions and the conflict with the leadership, he was transferred to Berdychiv primary school, where he became an active participant in the district teacher's union, at the illegal congress of which (it was held in the residence of N. Grigoriev) a resolution was adopted demanding the government to introduce the study of his native language. Soon the "unreliable" teacher was transferred to Lityn Na Podillia, where he also deploys active cultural and educational work - organizes a branch of the "Literacy Society", a library, a group 4 st.
